Facebook Facing Fines From Germany

Our darling beloved Facebook is facing fines from Germany after Facebook broke privacy laws under German Laws. A group of officials in Germany have sent Facebook a letter which Facebook as confirmed receiving via the BBC website. Switzerland is also on the brink of filing a lawsuit against Facebook over privacy concerns this is not looking good for Facebook as every country in the world may follow suit and Facebook could nose dive loosing some of its member base this would give Google prime opportunity to jump in with their rumoured project ‘GoogleMe‘. If found guilty Facebook will face huge fines which could dent their financial status as they don’t really make a great deal of money considering their potion in the world as the leading Social networking website.

After the recent ban in Pakistan of Facebook and the banning of the Facebook Login in Bangladesh a network of IT professionals from Pakistan have created their own version of Facebook solely for Muslims called MillatFacebook, meaning Nation Facebook.
The new site which can be found here has already gathered steady ground and is undergoing server upgrades to cope with the amount of traffic it’s receiving from the Muslim community world wide. MillatFacebook or MFB as it’s called for short already has 250,000 users according to the websites upgrade statement.

We expect there to be some problems with the branding of their website using Facebook in the title but I’m sure they will cross that bridge when they come to it, the website itself however is very similar to Facebook itself but obviously does not functions as well, there are no games, apps and the like just a a very plain social networking system using the same colours and layout and ajax loading systems as Facebook does.

MillatFacebook should do ok for now but those that are used to using Facebook will miss Facebook’s cool faultless features will keep an eye on the developments of MillatFacebook and report accordingly.

Quit Facebook Day

A website has been setup in protest to Facebook’s latest privacy settings update. Facebook has recently updated their website and now have over 50 settings for users to implement in their Facebook account. A group of Facebook members have teamed up to form a group, website and Facebook page to leave Facebook on the 31st of May 2010 the campaign already has 1237 Facebook users commisted to leaving Facebook at the end of May.

Facebook has well over 200 millions users and almost halp a million new members daily this kind of campaign will have little or no effect on Facebook at all but it’s a start and someone at Facebook must surely listen.

Facebook is making it’s settings more complex for its users and thus buying the privacy settings behind the whole system of Facebook are you aware that your information is open to the joe public if they know how to find it. This is a major alrm if you have children that use Facebook please make sure that you make thier settings private.

Facebooks version of retweet

Facebook has took another stage to keep up with the boom of Twitter with introducing its version of twitters popular retweet functionality. On twitter if you like someones post (tweet) you can retweet the tweet so that it appears on your Twitter wall for you followers to see a form of viral looping. Facebook as made a new feature that allows you to share another friends link on your profile its called “Facebook via” and works exactly the same as the retweet function. At the moment the facebook via is limited to links post on Facebook but soon no dount after some initial testing the featrure will be on everything you can think of on Facebook.

This in our opinion is a great step to secure the top spot as the worlds most favored social networking platform, personally we don’t use twitter ad we finds it a bit pointless on a personal level but its great for marketing strategies for your website or any website.

Facebook will not be charging their users its official

Thats right folks you heard it here first Facebook will not be charging its users. There as been a great deal of speculation of late about Facebook charging its users later on down the line to use it’s site and extra bonus features and addons to the website.

This comes as great news as many feared that their Facebook days were over and were forming groups on Facebook only for Facebook to eventually delete the groups one group reached well over 100 k members all disputing the speculated forthcoming charge by Mark Zuckerbergs powerhouse of a website.

The rumors surrounds fact that Facebook is struggling to make any serious money from it’s current advertising model we think that they should just add adsense to their content and that will help with funding and running costs.

Facebook Buttons – Share your Facebook profile and pages

We would like to tell you about a cool site we came across called Facebook Buttons it lets is users hotlink their cool images on sites they use to promote their Facebook profiles and pages. The site is pretty new but has some cool images to use for Facebook and Twitter. We have already added their buttons to our site so on the bottom of the main navigation if you use facebook feel free to add us a friend or if you use Twitter follow us and we will follow you back. The website also has some cool Twitter Buttons too.

You can add your link then simply copy the code for the image you want then paste it into your forum signatures, blog or website from there people will follow the image and either add you or become a fan or follow you on either website pretty cool eh!

Interview with a Facebooker – Meet Natasha Ward

This is a new series that we will be running interviewing Facebookers and asking them a series of questions about their thoughts and usage of the social networking website. Our first interviewee is awomen called Natasha Ward a friend of the owner of our website.

How old are you Natasha and where do you come from?

Hey im 23 and I come from Leicester in the United Kingdom.

How long have you been using Facebook?

I was introduced to Facebook through some friends roughly 2 and half years ago and have been using it ever since.

What are you thoughts about the website do you love it, hate it or are you just using it out of habit?

I seem to use it out of habit mainly, but I do love checking up on my friends, seeing what they have been upto and checking out new photo’s that have been added! It’s very good for keeping in touch with people.

Would you pay to use Facebook? please give a reason for your answer

No I wouldn’t because there are other sites that I can use for free.

What is your favourite part of Facebook?

I like the photos it’s the only thing I use to be honest. I like collecting the albums of things I have done with my daughter and fianc

I Cannot login to facebook

This seems to be a bit of a regular account for members of facebook just of late the reason being that the website is beginning to become bogged and cluttered if you truly are stumped and can’t log into facebook then please visit the Facebook Help section of this site post your problem and hopefully one will be found for you.

Follow the steps give on that page and your issue will be resolved if not try using the Facebook Lite Login instead.

Facebook now allows you to Login using your Facebook Username. Your username is easier to use and remember than your email to login to the number one social networking website. The question arises have you picked one yet if not pick your facebook username it simple and you can use it to direct people to your profile more easily on websites you use by posting a direct link to your profile.

Most sites use the technique now which not only makes the website more search engine friendly but more user friendly too go on try it!

Google Slap or Google Sandbox Effect

We were gutted to see that our site which we have worked so hard on adding content daily has been slapped or placed in the Google sandbox which has greatly effected our traffic and thus our reach to facebook users.

For those of you that don’t know The Google sanbox is a theory that is floating around on the internet where a new website has an initial ranking in Google for a short term and is then placed in a place called the sanbox by many where it is assessed by Google to see if the the Website in question is a spam website. We hope that our site is not seen by Google as a spam website as we have really worked hard to fill the site with good clean fresh content daily which we think facebook users will find helpful and relevant in their day to day usage of Facebook. If the site in question is a Spam website then that website will be deleted from Google and it will be very unlikely that the website will ever be indexed by Google ever again.

The other thing that could be effecting our place in Google is a Google slap or penalty where the site in question has some sneaky sneaky SEO techniques that typically go against the code of Google’s web mastering practice in the hope of attaining higher rankings in Google. We have not done any of this unless over using the word Facebook as got us slapped then were guilty as charged sorry Google.

We will as Google states keep adding good fresh relevant content to our website in the hope that it does return to it’s place in Google as we were attracting a good user base that were commenting on our posts and finding our articles helpful and interesting.
