We hear it all the time ‘My Facebook account has been hacked’. Just of late there has been a spate of people setting up fake sites that try to phish for your login information on all the sites you use. Its estimated that there are around 10 000 mnew phishing websites created every day by hackers and fraudsters in the hope of getting that vital login info that will allow them to access a users email and thus find any information that may enable them to commit online fraud. It’s reported that 1 in 3 of all online transactions are fraudulent thats an amazing figure we must all know someone that its efffected I have personally had it happen to me it’s not very nice so please please be vigilant when logging into websites.

The best resolution would be to make sure that your primary email login information is different from that of all the websites you frequent especially Facebook.

So to summurize follow these tips from us to avoid being phished

Check for the https:// in place of http:// in secure transaction sites check out paypals site.
Check for the enitre domain name including the ‘http://www.’ in Google to see if it’s trusted if it is the site will have site links these are links that appear in Google a good example is phish tank usually the big Gonly gives site links to those sites that it trusts.
Never have the same password for your email as you do the sites you use please try to get into the habit of this just for peace for mind just in case you become a victim of a phishing attack.
Install a website phishing detector AVG Free has one built in and best of all its completely free to use and will keep you safe.
If you find a site that you think is a phishing site add it to phish tank they will check it out then add it to their black list and inform allmajor search engines.

Our beloved Facebook has joined forces with FriendFeed another cool online site to keep in touch and share with your friends.

Over the past few months we have all seen facebook implementations that have been borrowed from FriendFeeds feature list with the ‘like’ link on photos and comments. The people behind FriendFeed have bought you many online applications that you have used and still use Paul Buchheit the man behind googles gmail and is a very connected guy.

We belive this is a step by Facebook to launch a direct assualt on the threatening twitter which is fastly become the number place to document your short comments online. Facebook is struggling with this and is looking for ways to make it easier for you to share online with friends.

Twitter is becoming a bit of an online phenomenon everyone is talking about it likes its the best thing since sliced bread and as a result its very hard to aqquire a domain with twitter in it! We have tried all sorts of domains like twitterbuddies to no avail and even our beloved twitterhut has gone too :( we have aqquired one though hopefully we will release more news on this after some development. So with all the fuss of twitter we have decided to now join the micro bloggin platform and have already gathered some interest via our twitter page. Hide My Facebook Status

Sometimes when logged into facebook it can be a very annoying thing all those little popups from your friends asking you “hi how are you?” the best solution is to hide your facebook status by going offline. You can hit the offline button in your facebook chat bar bottom right of your facebook page to go completely offline or select certain friends that will see you as being off line when others wont. If you want to jump on facebook without your loved one knowing your on there this is a great tool to do so remember though to set your status to online when you have finished.

Instructions to go offline are as follows:

Click the Green button bottom right of your facebook page whilst logged in.
A popup comes up slect options.
Select the grey button go offline.

Instructions to go offline to selected friends are as follows:

Click the Green button bottom right of your facebook page whilst logged in.
A popup comes up select options.
Your online friends are divided into groups where the group title is in the chat list hover over it and you will see a go offline option click this to set your status to offline to those in that category of friends.
