Facebook On The PS3

That’s right folks Facebook is coming to a PS3 near you! Sony has decided to jump on the bandwagon and will be releasing a cool Facebook integration in the new 3.10 firmware update expected before the end of the month as a goodwill and free Christmas present to all it’s loyal PS3 users.

What can I do with this?
Well as far we are aware you can update your status, display your trophies in your Facebook profile somewhere, show status of gameplay in your Facebook status, Login into Facebook from your PS3 and check your messages and wall posts but you have to use your built in browser to do the latter.

How do I set Facebook on the PS3 up?
Once you have downloaded the latest firmware update from Sony you got to
Playstation Network >> Account Management >> Facebook (at bottom) >> Follow on screen instructions for each setting.

Have you ever tried using your built in PS3 browser to login to Facebook its very cool but we do advise that you use the Facebook Lite Login as its a better experience on the PS3 browser.

The firefox facebook toolbar is ultra cool if your a fan of the firefox web browser aswell as a facebooker! The idea is that you can be anywhere on any site and still stay connected to your facebook profile with notifications, chat, messages and friends online status. Some of the key features of the tool bar are Search, chat, sharing pages, notifications and more. The toolbar is good for those that wont to be connected but don’t want to be on the facebook site at the same time so you could be reading a news article on the bbc news website or checking out your emails and still stay connected to facebook through this cool firefox addon.

Important Facebook Plugins

If you join facebook then you will be prompted constantly to download plugins for the website to work in your browser. Firstly we suggest that you install Adobe Flash Player the plugin is free and allows you to play games, gallery and video content on facebook.

Now that you have flash player installed you should think about adding the latest java update to your setup as some applications on facebook requires java to run such as the video uploads and images uploads you want to be able to create those albums with ease this update allows you to do so.

Remove Facebook Ads

Did you know that all you have to do to remove those pesky advertisements on facebook is install an addon it works with all web browsers and works a treat google somthing called AdBlockPlus. Add this addon to your browser and hey presto you have no ads if you install it, remember where you heard it first facebook login the same goes for all sites with adverts you wont belive how nice some of your favourite sites will look using this tool.
