Weird Symbols on Facebook

For some each time they try to log into Facebook they are landing on a page where there are strange symbols.

There are numerous things this could be, One being your anti virus software. This is a common effect if you have Norton installed on your computer best bet is to remove it or try logging into Facebook using http in place of https in the actual address of the site. Check your time setting make sure those are correct. Here is a list of possibilities that could be giving you the weird symbols on Facebook the whole process of finding what gives you symbols is one of elimination so please try the following.

  • Firewall – Disable it try again.
  • Anti Virus – Turn off try again.
  • Time setting – Make sure up to date with these.
  • Router issues – If your behind a router look at the manual and place your ip of your machine in the DMZ of the router. To get the ip of your computer on the network go to Start>Run>type cmd hit enter a black screen will pop up on there enter ‘ipconfig’ and your your ip will be displayed.
  • Secure Connection – Replace the https with http into the web address bar of Facebook.

  3. Thanks for publishing about this. There’s a bunch of important tech information on the internet. You’ve got a lot of that info here on your site. I’m impressed – I try to keep a couple blogs pretty up-to-date, but it’s a struggle sometimes. You’ve done a big job with this one. How do you do it?
